Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease is an illness caused by intestinal viruses. In Singapore, common viruses that are responsible for this illness are Coxsackie and Enterovirus 71 (EV71).
Although adults can also be affected by this disease, it is much common to find children under age of five to be affected by this disease.
Possible symptoms of this disease include the following:
1. Rashes or small blister appear on palms, soles of feets and buttocks
2. Fever
3. Headache
4. Vomitting
5. Sore throat
6. Ulcer in the mouth
7. Fatigue
8. Loss of appetite
