During Pregnancy

First, it is safe to eat cooked lobster in moderation during pregnancy.


Vitamins and minerals in lobster includes folate, vitamin B6, B12, E, panthoteric acid, potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper and phosphorus.


Folate or folic acid is important as it prevents birth defects in the newborns.


Potassium is beneficial for the pregnant women as it reduces heart-related disease. High blood pressure can lead to many pregnancy complications during pregnancy.


However, due to moderate level of mercury in lobster as well as parasites in lobster, it is better for expecting mothers to limit amount of consumption of lobster.
