If possible, pregnant women should choose normal vaginal delivery, this is for the good of both the mother and the infant. However, if any of the following situation occurs, pregnant women should follow the recommendation of the doctor and choose caesarean-section (c-section) for delivery.

1. Fetal distress. Fetal distress refer to abnormal condition of fetus characterized by the abnormal heart rhythm which is sometimes caused by umbilical cord compression, placental abruption.

2. Multi-births.

3. Prolonged labor or dystocia. To prevent any harm to the mother and baby, caesarean section should be performed to remove the baby.

3. Vaginal blockage. This is caused by the disease like fibroids or Ovarian leiomyoma in mothers.

4. Mother had undergone womb surgery. The scar may rupture during the delivery.

5. Placenta previa.

6. Overly large baby. When the weight of the baby is greater than 4.0kg, dystocia will be more likely to occur.

7. Contracted pelvis.
