What to avoid in first stage of labor?

1. Do not scream.

Screaming not only consumes energy, but disrupts the regular breathing that can help to reduce the pain. At the same time, screaming will also cause intestinal flatulence which is not conducive to the opening of the cervix and the lowering down of the head of baby.

2. Do not hold your breath.

Holding breath makes you more likely to 'push'. Also, it will increase the pain and suffering, and sometimes can cause dizziness. It also reduces the oxygen transport to the baby.

3. Avoid empty stomach.

Because of the pain and suffering, some of the expectant mothers are reluctant to eat. This is very dangerous.Laboring is a very exhausting process which requires a lot of energy from the expectant mother. It is very important for the expectant mother to eat more frequent less meals to ensure the smooth laboring process.
