Mother's uterine lining is thickening, preparing itself to receive the fertilized egg. Ovulation is getting ready to take place. Ovulation is a process where an egg is released from women's ovary. Only one egg is released in one cycle. Hence, it is vital for you to know when you are ovulating and time your sex accordingly. There are several methods available. One way is to monitor the basal body temperature. For details, you can read here on signs of ovulation.

At the end of this week, conception will take place if the sperm meets the egg. There may be millions of sperm racing to meet the egg, but only one with the best quality will meet the egg and fertilize it.

If the Y sperm fertilizes the egg, your baby will be a boy. If it is the X sperm fertilizes the egg, baby girl will be born; but there is no way we can tell the gender of the baby at this stage until pregnancy week 14.

The fertilized egg will divide itself into cells and continue to develop as it makes its way to the uterus where it needs to be implanted in the lining of the uterus.

A small group of women may feel light cramping at this time.
