Pregnancy Week 8: Development of the Embryo and Change to Mother

 Pregnancy week by week: development of the growing fetus and change to expecting mother in pregnancy week 8 and milestone in pregnancy week 8

Development of the Embryo

1. The length of the fetus is about 2 cm long.

2. The fetus starts to have smelling sense. Arms, legs, and neck become longer.

3. The fetus' two hands are resting on the abdomen. It may appear that the fetus is swimming.

Change to the expectant mother

1. Early pregnancy responses still make the expectant mother uncomfortable. The pregnant mother may have to visit toilet very often.

2. The expectant mother will now sweat easily.

3. Expectant mother's gum may become swollen easily now.
