Trying to conceive

It is safe to eat cooked scallop in moderation while you are trying to conceive.


Scallop is rich in many vitamins and minerals like vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, B12,E, K, C, folate, potasium, calcium, magnesiu, zinc, iron and copper.


Zinc is very important for male's fertility as it increases sperm count and sperm motility.


Folate, or folic acid is a must for women before and during pregnancy as it helps to prevent birth defect.


However, due to pollution, there is mercury found in the scallop. Presence of mercury in the pregnant women has been found to be related to some birth defects and this heavy metal usuaully will stay in the body for quite long.


Therefore, you should limit the consumption to one or two times in a month.
