An Esplanade Commission
Where have all the animals in the kampung gone? Behind the disappearance of the little creatures is a giant python that stays hidden in the big and strong, old banyan tree!
Three brave children from the kampung need help to lure the snake out from the banyan tree. Audience will take on the role of villagers, embark on a courageous journey to think of ways to help the kampung! Should they chase the snake away or can the children, villagers and animals live in harmony in the same kampung?
After two successful runs of Child’s Play at Huayi 2017 and 2018, Singapore theatre director Danny Yeo, in collaboration with 3Pumpkins, returns with Child’s Play – The Story of the Banyan Tree.
Adapted from a classic local folklore, the immersive and interactive children-only theatre production is specially created for children from ages 6 to 11. Packed with hands-on activities and creative storytelling, children will learn the importance of teamwork, responsibility and problem-solving in this unique experiential environment and participative performance without the help of parents or teachers.
