Safe to Eat Almond

Is it safe to eat Almond during pregnancy, breastfeeding or while trying to conceieve?Is it healthy for infant, toddler or childrent to eat?

Trying to conceive

It is good for couple to eat almond while they are trying to conceive.


First, almond is rich in zinc which can help to improve sperm count and sperm motility. Sperm count and sperm motility are two important factors in affecting successful conception.


Almond also contains L-arginine which is important for reproductive health.


Almond also contains folate which is important for pregnant women as it can help to prevent birth defects in newborns.


Lastly, almonds is also rich in vitamin E, B1, B2, B6 and minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper which are beneficial to couples who are trying to conceive.


During Pregnancy

In general, it is healthy for pregnant women to eat almond during pregnancy. However, if pregnant women or family members show allergy to almond, expecting mothers should consult doctor first. So far, there is no confirmed evidence that almond can cause food allergy in unborn children.


Almond has high protein content. Protein gives expecting mothers enough strength and stamina for delivery.


The fiber content present in almond helps in easy digestion and regulation of bowels. This in turn helps to prevent constipation during pregnancy. Due to hormonal change during pregnancy, constipation can occur very often to pregnant women. Fiber can help to keep problem at bay.


The vitamin E content in almond helps in healthy formation of hair and skin of the baby.

Manganese helps regulate a healthy body weight in both mother and child. It also helps in the formation of strong and healthy bones. Almond is also rich in iron. Iron is essential for red blood cell formation. It is common for pregnant women to experience anemia during pregnancy. Having enough iron in the diet can help to prevent anemia during pregnancy. Seven Months to Nine Months Old Baby

It is not suitable for your baby to eat almond at this age.


Ten Months to Twelve Months Old Baby

It is not suitable for your baby to eat almond at this age.


One Year Old and Above Baby

You can consider introducing almond gradually to your child, but you need to watch out for any allergic reaction.
