Safe to Eat Leek

Is it safe to eat Leek during pregnancy, breastfeeding or while trying to conceieve?Is it healthy for infant, toddler or childrent to eat?

Trying to conceive

Leek is very beneficial for couples who are trying to conceive.


In some cultures, leek is used to treat erectile dysfunction, premature ejacuation. This is helpful for couples who are trying to conceive.


Leek is also found to increase sperm count and sperm motility - both are important for successful conception.


Furthermore, leek is rich in folic acid. It is necessary for women to have enough folic acid in diet before and during pregnancy. The folic acid can help in preventing birth defects in the newborns.


Minerals and vitamins in leek like vitamin C, zinc, calcium all have positive effects on fertility.


During Pregnancy

It is healthy to eat leek during pregnancy.


Leeks are very rich in vitamins and mineral, this makes it a healthy choice for expecting mothers and growing fetus.

In 200 grams of leeks, there is 14 milligrams of iron. Iron is essential for the production of red blood cell.
