Safe to Eat Strawberry

Is it safe to eat Strawberry during pregnancy, breastfeeding or while trying to conceieve?Is it healthy for infant, toddler or childrent to eat?

Trying to conceive

It is safe to eat strawberry while couples are trying to conceive.

Women needs to be very mindful about what they eat while trying to conceive. This is because what they eat will affect chance of conception and women needs to make sure their bodies are in good form so that the fetus can grow healthily inside her body.

Strawberry helps the women by providing lots of antioxidants which can protect women from damage by free radicals which are compounds that can damage cells. Strawberry is also rich in folate - a vitamin that women need to take before conception as it can prevent birth defect in the newborns.

During Pregnancy

Strawberry offers a wide range of health benefits for expecting mother and growing fetus during pregnancy. It is beneficial for expecting mother to have this fruit during pregnancy.

Strawberry is a good source of vitamin C. 100 grams of strawberry can supply 97 percent of our daily requirement of vitamin C.

Vitamin C, being a natural antioxidant, first boosts the immune system of the pregnant women, preven attack by pollutants and free radicals which are compounds that can damage cells. Having sufficient vitamin C can prevent cold and flu and many other infectious diseases.

Strawberry also contains folic acid. Folic acid is important in preventing birth defect in the newborns.

Furthermore, dietary fiber in strawberry can aid expecting mothers in fighting against constipation. The dietary fiber helps the bowel movement and make it easy for the stool to be removed from the body.

Strawberry also contains iron. Iron is necessary for the formation of red blood cell. During pregnancy, pregnant women needs a greater blood supply to support herself and the growing fetus. It is not suitable for your baby at this age to have strawberry. This fruit may trigger allergic reaction from your baby.

Ten Months to Twelve Months Old Baby

You need to introduce strawberry gradually as some babies may show allergic reaction to it.

If you or your family have shown allergy to this fruit, it is better for your baby to avoid this fruit also.
