Safe to Eat Sunflower seed

Is it safe to eat Sunflower seed during pregnancy, breastfeeding or while trying to conceieve?Is it healthy for infant, toddler or childrent to eat?

Trying to conceive

It is beneficial to eat sunflower seed while couples are trying to conceive. However, couples are advised to choose the sunflower seeds carefully as many products available in the market contains many preservatives.


Sunflower seeds are rich in vitamin E. Vitamin E can help to improve health of the sperm and sperm motitlity. This will increase the chance of conception.


Sunflower seeds can help to reduce inflammation and improve the general health of the couples. This will also increase the chance of successful conception.


Lastly, sunflower seeds are rich in zinc. Zinc can help to improve both sperm count and sperm motility - both are important for successful conception.


During Pregnancy

It is safe to eat sunflower seeds in moderation during pregnancy.


Sunflower seeds are rich in antioxidants which help to protect expecting mothers and fetus from attack by free radicals.


Folic acid found in sunflower seeds can help to prevent birth defects in newborn.


Furthermore, sunflower seeds are rich in fatty acids which are beneficial for the brain development of the growing fetus.
