Disadvantages or risks with a C Section

Disadvantages of C-section birth delivery in Singapore

1. Babies will not be able to receive a beneficial bacteria that can help to boost their immune system. Babies that go through vaginal delivery will receive it while they are at the vaginal of their mother.

2. Babies born by c-section are more likely to develop breathing problems such as asthma or allergies. This is because the amniotic fluid in their lungs cannot be cleared up in a c-section.

3. Risk of diabetes is higher for babies that are delivered by c-section.

4. Longer recover time and hospital stay.

5. Heavy blood loss and pain at the incision site.

6. There is risk of infection of uterus, incision or other organs.

7. Lower success rate of breastfeeding.
