Vitamin D and fertility

Vitamin D can affect fertility in both man and woman.

Vitamin D is an important nutrient for fertility. An improvement in vitamin D level in human body has been found to improve the fertility. Some doctors even suggest that couples should try to increase their vitamin D level in their bodies before going for some infertility treatments such as IVF.

One of the causes of infertility in women is the hormone imbalance. Vitamin D is beneficial to fertility by balancing the hormone level in women.

Vitamin D helps to improve fertility in men. Research shows that vitamin D helps to improve motility of the sperm and sperm counts. Vitamin D is also essential for the development of the nucleus of the cell.

Vitamin D can be useful when it comes to pregnancy as it helps to shrink fibroid. Fibroid is a non-cancerous tumor that is present in woman. Fibroid is associated with infertility as it prevents the egg from meeting the sperm or prevent implantation of the fertilized egg. Fibroid is also closely associated with miscarriage and preterm labor. By shrinking the fibroid, vitamin D helps egg to meet the sperm easier and easier for the implantation of the fertilized egg to take place.

In conclusion, vitamin D helps to boost fertility in men and women. Couples should make sure there is adequate level of vitamin D in their body when they try to conceive.
