These vaccine formulations combine vaccines against 5 or 6 disease into a single injection.
(i) The 5-in-1 injection combines vaccines against Diphtheria/Pertussis/Tetanus (DPT), Polio and Haemophilus Influenzae Type B (Hib) into 1 injection.
(ii) The 6-in-1 injection combines vaccines against Diphtheria/Pertussis/Tetanus (DPT), Polio, Haemophilus Influenzae Type B (Hib) and Hepatitis B into 1 injection.

Many polyclinics and clinics offer 5 in 1 jab or 6 in 1 jab packages with a different price. National Healthcare Group's 5 in 1 package will cost $320 while 6 in 1 package will cost $360.

6 in 1 jab combine with the hepatitis B vaccine, therefore it is more costly. If you have opted for 5 in 1, your baby will need two extra hepatitis B injection.

Side effect from the injection will be less. In 5 in 1 jab or 6 in 1 jab, only purified bacterial part were used in the vaccine against Diphtheria/Pertussis/Tetanus. This has been proven to have less side effect as compare to the whole bacteria.
Other than this, 5 in 1 jab or 6 in 1 jab combines with Hib vaccination, offer a better protection of children from Haemophilus Influenzae Type B.
Lastly 5 in 1 jab or 6 in 1 jab can reduce number of injection. The less the number of injection, the less pain for the baby and less chance for side effect to occur.
